How to let LinkSweep scan your Wordfence-protected WordPress site
Your site uses Wordfence (a popular WordPress security plugin) and its firewall is blocking our scanner. We just need to tell Wordfence that LinkSweep is safe. This takes about 5 minutes inside your WordPress admin.

What to tell Wordfence
- LinkSweep's IP address
- 185.31.243.206
- LinkSweep's identifier
- Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; LinkSweep/1.0; +https://linksweep.eu/bot)
- How much traffic
- Up to a few hundred requests per scan, on whatever schedule you've set.
Step-by-step in WordPress / Wordfence
- Log in to WordPress Admin as an administrator. In the left sidebar, click Wordfence.
-
Allowlist the IP:
- Wordfence → Firewall → Blocking → scroll down to Advanced Blocking (or in older versions: Tools → Whitelisted URLs/IPs).
- Look for the section Allowlisted IP addresses that bypass all rules.
- Add
185.31.243.206, with a note: "LinkSweep monitoring". - Click Save.
-
Check Live Traffic: Wordfence → Tools → Live Traffic. Trigger a fresh scan in LinkSweep and watch the events from
185.31.243.206— they should pass with no firewall action. - If you've enabled "Rate Limiting" under Firewall → All Firewall Options: also bump the limits for our IP or add it to the rate-limit allowlist, otherwise a fast scan can still get throttled even after IP allowlisting.
- If Wordfence "Country Blocking" is on (paid plans): LinkSweep scans from Estonia. Either add Estonia to the allowed-country list or add the IP to Whitelisted IPs that bypass country blocking.
After you've allowlisted us
- Wordfence picks up the change immediately — no cache flush needed.
- In LinkSweep, open the site and click Scan Now.
- If you still see blocks, double-check Live Traffic — the event row tells you which Wordfence rule fired so you can adjust the right one.

Steps (5 min, inside WordPress Admin):
1. Wordfence → Firewall → Blocking → Advanced Blocking
2. Find "Allowlisted IP addresses that bypass all rules" and add 185.31.243.206
3. If Rate Limiting is on, also add the IP to its bypass list
Expected traffic: up to a few hundred requests per scheduled scan. They respect robots.txt.
