How to let LinkSweep scan your Imperva-protected site

Your site is behind Imperva (formerly Incapsula), which is blocking our scanner. Imperva is a security service many sites use to stop bad traffic — we just need to tell it that LinkSweep is safe. This takes about 5 minutes.

Don't manage your site's security yourself?

Scroll to the bottom — there's a ready-to-send message you can forward to whoever runs your website.

What to tell Imperva

LinkSweep's IP address
185.31.243.206
LinkSweep's identifier
Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; LinkSweep/1.0; +https://linksweep.eu/bot)
How much traffic
Up to a few hundred requests per scan, on whatever schedule you've set.

Step-by-step in the Imperva Cloud dashboard

  1. Log in to my.imperva.com and select the site you want to scan.
  2. Add the IP to your Whitelist:
    1. Left sidebar → PoliciesAccess Control.
    2. Scroll to Whitelist IPs → click Add IP.
    3. IP: 185.31.243.206, comment: LinkSweep monitoring.
    4. Save.
  3. Allow us through Bot Protection:
    1. Go to PoliciesBot Access Control (sometimes under Advanced Bot Protection).
    2. Add a rule with User-Agent matching LinkSweep/1.0 → action: Allow. Alternatively add to the Good Bots list.
  4. If you use custom Security rules: make sure none of them block the IP — Imperva policies are evaluated in order, and the first match wins.

After you've allowlisted us

  1. Imperva changes usually apply within 1-2 minutes.
  2. In LinkSweep, open the site and click Scan Now.
  3. If it still fails after 10 minutes, contact support.
